Student Of The Year 3: Alaya F to team up with Shanaya Kapoor in teenage drama? Deets inside

Karan Johar’s popular franchise Student of the Year is set to expand beyond its two feature films, with a new series in development.  According to reports, Dharma Productions’ digital wing will produce the web series, to be helmed by Reema Maya, the international filmmaker known for her Counterfeit Kunkoo and Nocturnal Burger. Shanaya Kapoor, who happened to make her debut with Bedhadak, will now be one of the leading ladies in the upcoming drama series. In the latest development, Alaya F is reportedly joining the franchise as the second female lead.

While the official announcement of the cast is yet to be announced, recent rumours suggest that Alaya F has joined Shanaya in the teenage drama series, as reported by Bollywood Hungama. However, the cast and platform for the Student of the Year series are yet to be officially revealed by Dharma Productions’ digital wing Dharmatic Entertainment. 

Earlier, Karan confirmed that the Student Of The Year 3 is in the works, at the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Punjab. “Reema Maya will be directing the digital version of Student of the Year. But it will be her way and definitely not mine because if I’ll enter Reema Maya’s world, then I will make it more of an illusion, which is what her name means. I just wanted it to be her voice. She made it her own series,” he was quoted as saying. 

For those unversed, Karan Johar launched the Student of the Year franchise in 2012, marking the debut of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Sidharth Malhotra. Seven years later, Punit Malhotra directed the sequel, introducing Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria alongside Tiger Shroff. The production house is now geared up to take the franchise to the next level with a series adaptation, with yet another exciting cast and plot, which fans are eagerly waiting to binge-watch.
