2024 was an eventful year in K-pop. From BTS’ Jin releasing his first-ever solo album, BLACKPINK’s Rose’s chart-topping collaboration with Bruno Mars to G-Dragon and 2NE1’s comeback, the year was a whirlwind of unforgettable moments. And now, merely days before the year comes to an end, the Korean Business Research Institute released December’s brand reputation ranking for individual idols, acknowledging their hard work and efforts this year.

The analysis highlights the popularity and influence of the individual artists between November 28 and December 28. The rankings are based on the data collected, considering factors like consumer participation, media coverage, interaction and community awareness indexes of 1,730 idols. Based on the data, BLACKPINK’s Rose also managed to hold onto her top spot this month. Her popularity surpassed some big names in the K-pop industry, including BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and BTS members like Jin, V and Jungkook.

Rose ranked first on the December brand reputation list, all thanks to her song APT., with Bruno Mars and her debut solo album Rosie. According to Soompi, the 27-year-old singer topped the list with a brand reputation index of 18,825,475. Keyword analysis revealed high-ranking phrases such as APT., Rosie, and birthday are associated with Rose. Whereas her highest-ranking related terms included participate, confess, and record. Her positivity-negativity analysis score stood at 93.28 per cent positive reactions.

On the other hand, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon has risen to the second position with a brand reputation index of 6,115,841. Aespa’s Karina secured third place with an index of 5,998,096. Following closely is IVE’s Jang Won Young. She has a brand reputation index of 5,874,248, a 10.31 per cent increase in her score since November. Meanwhile, BTS Jin, who released his first solo album, Happy, was at the fifth position in the December brand reputation list with an index of 5,252,011.
